We are seeing why so many people are fed up with how the age old political parties are working. They literally live in a different world to the rest of us and it needs to change. We had continual change of leadership with the Conservative Party and it looks like that is to continue with labour and here we see it in all its glory. A lot in labour want to see Andy Burnham get a chance to be its leader. To do that he has to be an MP. It doesn’t seem to matter to anyone in the Labour Party that the person voted for as their MP should be working for their constituents. If elected he will certainly not be. He has his own agenda of taking control and he will simply assign an officer or two to do his case work and spend all his time in 3 places. No 10. Chequers. Houses of Parliament. Oh sorrry there is a fourth. A plane to some distant land where he can smile and chat to others.
Representing your area should be a primary function and we now have, I suspect, a significant number of Labour MPs who actually want Reform to win this waste of a by-election (cost could be millions by the way if Burnham wins and we have a Mayoral election as well). That means our Prime Minister may only have Wes to fight off–assuming he decides he’s not going anywhere!!!!
In the meantime we need to crack on sorting the country out—but hey ho—this is more fun for some.
