The dust is starting to settle down and all the new faces are appearing on the TV on Sunday and the news as we go allong, even though footy is proving far more interesting!!! (You would think one of them would have mentioned it but hey ho!!)
As for myself I am happy with the start we have made, 3rd place from nowhere in a general election when people on the ground didn’t know me or the party is going some!!
Reform UK are now established and although we have only 5 MPs in Parliament I am sure they will be heard. I also believe there will be movement for change in the electoral system.
Some facts for you
- Labour got virtually the same number of votes as when Jeremy Corbyn was in charge
- Lib Dems got 10 times more MPs with less actual votes than Reform UK
- We would have 100 MPs at Reform UK if we had proportional representation.
- Proportional representation means that there are the number of MPs in Parliament that reflect how people voted in the country.
The problem is that we now have a party in government with a huge majority and they will try and do whatever they want regardless. There are movements out there for change and the debate needs to be had.
Right, time to get out on the bike I haven’t ridden for 10 weeks!!
