loaves of bread!!

I recently attanded a consultation meeting on a proposed solar farm covering 2,500 acres of farmland for the Selby Area. I spoke with a couple of residents about the loss of wheat production and another lady joined the conversation who has taken it much further!!! I will not trouble you with the calculations but she reckons there are applications for just over a thousand solar farms in England and she has worked out we lose approximately 29 days of loaf production per year as a consequence!!

What no one is talking about it how we make up this loss of food. We will have to import it which costs money and yet is never mentioned in the ‘sustainability criteria’.

Lastly, on a slightly different note Camblesforth Parish Council have firmly rejected the proposed battery storage facility on their doorstep, hopefully it will go to planning and be rejected.
