There’s no doubt that the NHS is in trouble despite huge inputs of funding. It’s not all about money, it’s about how NHS is administered, and you could be forgiven for thinking they’re not working for your best interests. So what can be done about it? Here’s a sample of Reform UKs solutions:
1. End doctor and nurse shortages. We will encourage existing staff and those who recently left to return by giving them 3 years exemption from basic rate tax. Write off student fees pro rata per year over 10 years of NHS service for all doctors, nurses and medical staff.
2. Tax relief of 20% on all private healthcare and insurance. This will improve care by relieving pressure on NHS. Those who rely on NHS will enjoy faster and better care. Independent healthcare capacity will grow rapidly, providing competition and reducing costs.
3. NHS patients will receive a voucher for private treatment, without cost to them, if they can’t see a GP within 3 days, or a consultant within 3 weeks, or have an operation within 9 weeks.
This is just the beginning. Reform UK has multiple plans to improve our NHS, which it should be emphasised will remain free at the point of need, despite scaremongering you may hear from other parties. Just go to the Reform UK website and you can read the whole Contract, it’s written in clear accessible language
