Our NHS–Reforms answer

Are you, like so many others struggling to get an appointment with a
GP, or suffering from an ailment which should have been treated very
early but are frustrated by ridiculously long hospital waiting lists?
You’re not alone, countless thousands are routinely failed by the
current NHS system, not helped by politicians pledging improvements
but achieving nothing. It’s nothing to do with underfunding, other
countries have far better health outcomes with less funding than we
pour into the bottomless pit. Why don’t we learn from them instead of
perpetuating the misery.
You could trust other parties to keep their promises, or you could put
your faith in a vibrant new party which works only for you the
electorate and not for its own benefit. Here’s what Reform UK is
determined to do on your behalf:
1. Transform doctor and nurse availability. Frontline medics will pay
zero basic tax rate for 3 years, which will help retain existing and
attract many staff who have recently left
2. Use independent healthcare capacity. Cut waiting lists by using UK
and overseas providers. The independent sector can provide some of the
best care available. Nuffield Health and Marie Curie for instance are
not-for-profit charities, as are so many others. They are ready and
willing to help but are snubbed by those who protest this will
effectively privatise NHS. Let’s be clear, Reform UK will ensure NHS
treatment will always be free at time of need.
3. 20% tax relief on all private healthcare and insurance. For those
who can afford a little more to have private medical care it will be a
good incentive. This in itself will reduce the pressure on NHS waiting
lists. Compare this with Labour who will instead add VAT on
independent healthcare, which will naturally make the NHS worse off.
4. Doctor and nurse training. End training caps for all UK medical
students. Write off student fees pro rata per year over 10 years of
NHS service for all doctors, nurses and other medical staff. It will
reduce the damaging drain to overseas hospitals of people who we
trained at great expense.
That’s only the start. We have long-term plans to continue
improvements in medical care, which I’ll tell you about in future
emails. You now have the power to revolutionise UK healthcare without
pouring even more treasure down the current NHS bottomless pit, or you
can continue to trust those who have failed you. The choice is yours
